Redesigning Painmap, next changes

As you can see, this week we have started to redesign paintmap.

It's going to be a long process and we expect to get a better user experience. Our plan includes some major changes: add a new and easier way to upload paintings, improvement of the user profile with a new artist map and Bio and a new search box to search for artists and users.

We continue working to make Paintmap.com a better place.

  1. Hello! I just added some charcoal sketches of San Francisco - I can't wait for your website to really take off! I'm sure this is going to become an incredibly popular site once the word gets out. I also saw you listed SF as a "cool place" - awesome :)

  2. Hi there. I was thinking about how, when you view a painting, you get to see a thumbnail of 4 other works by the artist. They are the images with the most views-- this results in a few paintings getting viewed much more than others.

I wonder whether it would be smart to mix that up a bit: see thumbnails of 2 with most views, 1 random from that artist, and also the most recently posted (which might be the best work, but have not had time to accumulate views).

    What do you think?

  3. Hi, Phil. Thanks for your suggestion! One of us (Jaime) sent you an answer by email, but you're right: the blog is the place to follow your started idea opening it to other Paintmap members.
On our side, let us a bit of time to analize your proposal. Anything helping to improve Paintmap performance and providing a better distribution of Paintmap artistic content is always welcomed. THANKS!
